What's the scoop? Maple Cream, Maple Butter, Maple Spread

What is maple cream, maple butter, maple spread? The name can be quite deceiving.  Many refer to it as maple butter because it has an amazing butter-like texture.  Here at Hilltop Boilers, we call it Maple Cream because of its creamy texture.  However, pure maple cream has only one ingredient . . . 100% pure maple syrup.  It has no cream, no butter, nothing added.  It is vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and contains no additives - but it is full of maple flavor!

Pure maple cream is made by heating maple syrup to a high temperature, cooling it rapidly and whipping it into a soft, creamy texture.  This process is often called churning.  Its smooth consistency makes it perfect for spreading on toast, bagels, English muffins, cinnamon rolls, ice cream, apples . . . or eating directly off a spoon!!!  It can be added to sauces, frosting or fruit dip.  It is a fantastic maple product that lends itself to both sweet and salty recipes.

Since maple cream is made from 100% pure maple syrup, it contains all the same essential nutrients found in maple syrup.  It is rich in antioxidants like zinc and manganese, magnesium, vitamin D, folic acid and more.  It truly is a better sweetener and a great source of energy.
